Baseball Gets a Big Win over Collinsville

The Tom Bean baseball team won its 9th game in a row after a season sweep of Collinsville last night, 6-4. Keaton Reed pitched 6 and 1/3 innings to earn his 3rd win of the season. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits and struck out 8. Cash Linder entered the game with the tying runs on first and second base and struck out the last two hitters to notch his first save of the season. Linder also collected two hits, including a triple to lead off the third inning. The Tomcats jumped out to an early 3-run lead when Chase Stratton hit a 2-run single with two outs in the bottom of the first inning. Dyson Farris led off the game with a double, Linder and Reed each singled to load the bases in front of Stratton. Cody Luelf went 2-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Donnie Hooten and Ryan DeArmond each singled as well.
Tom Bean improves to 10-1, 7-0 on the season. Dodd City comes to Tomcat Field on Friday. First pitch at 6:30 PM.
