Last week was a busy one for our Lady Cats! Both JV and Varsity faced Dodd City on Tuesday, August 25th, and our Varsity team continued with games in Ector on Friday, August 28th, while also competing in the Tom Bean Varsity Lady Cat Classic on Thursday, August 27th, and Saturday, August 29th.

Tuesday, August 25th vs. Dodd City
JV Lady Cats
The JV Lady Cats battled hard but fell to Dodd City in three sets: 14-25, 25-20, 14-25. After dropping the first set, the girls responded with a strong second-set win. They continued to fight throughout the match and showed some great moments of teamwork and determination.

Varsity Lady Cats
The Varsity Lady Cats fell in four sets: 13-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-27. After dropping the first two sets, our girls showed great resilience by coming back to win the third set. The fourth set was an incredible battle, with the Lady Cats narrowly falling 25-27.

Friday, August 28th at Ector
Our Varsity Lady Cats were back on the court Friday in Ector. The girls battled throughout all three sets but ultimately fell 0-3: 14-25, 25-27, 22-25.

The second set was a particularly close battle, with the Lady Cats pushing Ector to 27 points. The girls continued to compete and fight through the final set despite the tough turnaround and busy week of volleyball.

Tom Bean Varsity Lady Cat Classic
Our Varsity team competed in the Tom Bean Varsity Lady Cat Classic on Thursday, August 27th, and Saturday, August 29th, playing six games and finishing 3-3.

Thursday, August 27th:

New Home – WIN | 25-16, 25-22

Savoy – LOSS | 17-25, 24-26

Trenton – WIN | 25-21, 25-22

Wolfe City – LOSS | 14-25, 17-25

Saturday, August 29th:

Dodd City – LOSS | 22-25, 14-25

Bellevue – WIN | 26-24, 24-26, 25-14

The tournament was a great opportunity for our girls to compete against a variety of teams and experience a demanding two-day schedule. We had several competitive sets throughout the tournament, including a hard-fought three-set victory over Bellevue to finish the weekend.

Overall, our Varsity team played a very demanding stretch of volleyball, competing in eight Varsity matches across the week. While we would have loved to come away with more wins, the experience these girls gained from playing so much competitive volleyball will be valuable as we continue through the season.

We are proud of the way our girls continued to compete, support one another, and fight through every game. We will continue to take what we learned from this past week and use it to get better moving forward.
