The much-anticipated powerlifting season kicked off with a bang last week, as our athletes traveled to S&S. Both days were a showcase of our student-athletes' incredible strength and determination to succeed.
To start the week off, in her first ever powerlifting meet, Reese Apple, set personal records in all three of her lifts. This outing would serve as an unwavering testament to all of her hard work and preparation.
On Saturday, the boys would rally together and put on quite the performance. McKay Young lead the way by securing an impressive 2nd place in his weight class. Ryan DeArmond followed suit by claiming the 4th spot in his respective weight class. Daniel Ruiz exhibited resilience and determination, securing a commendable 6th place in his weight class. Not to be outdone, Zane Young, Izak Tumey, and Peyton Evans, all left their mark by setting personal records within multiple lifts throughout the day.
The dedication and hard work of these athletes were on full display as they pushed their boundaries and achieved new heights. The team eagerly looks ahead to their upcoming competition in Prosper. The Lady Cats are set to lift on February 1st at 5:00 pm, followed by the boys on February 3rd at 6:00 am.
