This past weekend marked a momentous occasion for Tom Bean Powerlifting as two of its finest athletes, Ryan DeArmond and Daniel Ruiz, stepped onto the grand stage of the THPSA State Powerlifting Meet in Abilene. Amongst the state's elite competitors, DeArmond and Ruiz showcased not only their physical prowess but also the resilience and determination that have become synonymous with the program.

The atmosphere was electric as the competitors embarked on a grueling 8-hour journey, pushing their limits with each lift. For DeArmond and Ruiz, it was a test of strength, endurance, and sheer willpower. Despite the fierce competition, both athletes rose to the occasion, leaving it all on the platform as they represented Tom Bean with pride.

At the end of the day, the results spoke volumes. Daniel Ruiz emerged as the 12th strongest athlete in the state within his weight division. Ryan DeArmond secured 10th place within his weight division and tied his personal best in total weight lifted.

Reflecting on the team's performance, Coach McBride and Coach Dennis both expressed immense pride in the accomplishments of DeArmond, Ruiz, and the entire Tom Bean powerlifting program. "This year, we've witnessed a ton of growth from our athletes," Coach Dennis remarked. When asked about this growth, Coach Mcbride said, "Sending three times the amount of athletes to Regionals compared to last year is a testament to the dedication and commitment of this group."

Looking ahead, the future appears bright for Tom Bean Powerlifting. With both state participants set to return next year and only one senior departing, the team is poised for even greater success in the seasons to come. As the dust settles on another exhilarating season, we can all be proud of the accomplishments of Tom Bean Powerlifting and know that it is in good hands moving forward.
