Despite the toasty temperatures on Saturday, September 21st, our cross country team delivered impressive performances at their latest meet! Facing a challenging 5K course and stiff competition from larger 5A and 6A schools, our runners showcased their determination and skill.

For the varsity girls, Reese Perkins had a stellar performance, earning a medal with a fantastic 4th place finish overall. Dianne Flores, Avery Pribble, and McKenzie Bearden also contributed strong finishes, showcasing the depth of talent within our varsity girls' team.

For the varsity boys, Hunter Filbeck led the way, finishing strong and setting a great example for the team. He was closely followed by Heath Ostrander, Charlie Minor, and Vernon Hulme, all of whom pushed through the hilly terrain with grit. Competing against high-level opponents provided valuable experience for our athletes, and they rose to the occasion admirably! In the JV boys’ race, Brock Tillett stood out among a field of 85 runners, putting forth a commendable effort that truly represented our team’s spirit.

The middle school girls had an exciting day as well! Kami Poole earned a medal with her impressive 10th place finish, while Maleeya Halpain celebrated a personal record.

For the middle school boys, Curtis Thomas led the Tomcats, followed by Max Donihoo, Jack Williams, and Elliott McRoberts. Their efforts highlighted the teamwork and dedication that our younger athletes are developing.

Our runners are looking forward to their next challenge at the Blue Ridge Invitational on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
