The Tomcats went 2-1 on the weekend and got 3rd place in the Van Alstyne GCEC Tournament. Several Tomcats had great weekends including Donnie Hooten who went 7-11 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 7 RBI's, and 5 Runs for the tournament.
Thursday against Howe (12-3 WIN):
The Tomcats got the offense going early and often. Donnie Hooten had a standout game going 4-4 with 3 doubles and a triple with 5 RBI's and scoring 3 runs. Dyson Farris, Cash Linder, and Keaton Reed all had 2 hits apiece. Cash Linder also had a great day on the mound going 4 innings and not allowing any earned runs or walks.
Friday against Van Alstyne (2-9 LOSS):
The Tomcats battled but lost by a score of 2-9. Hagen Darney, Cash Linder, Braylin Barrett, and Collin Cherry all had hits at the plate. Donnie Hooten and Dyson Farris pitched well, only giving up 4 hits total in the game.
Saturday against Trenton (12-5 WIN):
The bats were hot for the Tomcats collecting 14 total hits. Hagen Darney and Donnie Hooten led the offense with 3 hits apiece. Cash Linder and Dyson Farris also had multiple hits on the game. Keaton Reed got the win on the mound going 3 innings and only giving up 1 run on 2 hits and 4 strikeouts.
District starts on Tuesday at 6:30 @ home against the reigning State Champs, Collinsville. The Tomcats look to start district strong!
