The Tom Bean Tomcat Baseball team's historic season that saw the team make its first ever State Semifinals appearance came to an end Friday, losing both hard fought games to the New Home Leopards.
Game 1 (1-5 LOSS):
The Tomcats dropped Game 1 of the State Semifinals 5-1 to New Home. Hagen Darney led the offense with 2 hits. Keaton Reed, Dyson Farris, and Braylin Barrett all had a single in the game. Donnie Hooten drove in the only run for the Tomcats with a sacrifice fly that scored Reid Sharp. On the mound, Keaton Reed battled through all 7 innings while only walking 2 hitters.
Game 2 (3-5 LOSS):
The Tomcats' historic season came to an end, losing 5-3 in Game 2 against the New Home Leopards. At the plate, Keaton Reed reached base on all 4 plate appearances including 3 hits. Ryan DeArmond also had a great game at the plate getting 2 hits and scoring twice. Hagen Darney had a huge 2 RBI double in the 2nd inning to give the Tomcats the early lead. Donnie Hooten also helped out with a single. Cash Linder was great on the mound going all 6 innings without giving up an earned run and not allowing a walk in the game.
We appreciate everyone that supported the team throughout the season. The kids battled through a lot this season and came together and had a phenomenal and historic year for the school!
