The Tom Bean Lady Cats kicked off their season with a matchup against Pilot Point. The JV battled it out in a three-set match, ultimately coming out on top with scores of 22-25, 25-14, and 15-9. Shout out to Paislee Freeman and Cady Farrell for their tremendous defensive and offensive skills on the court, as well as Aly Low for her dominating serves. This win was truly a team effort, the Lady Cats bounced back strong after a first-set loss and showed their resilience.
The Varsity Lady Cats also faced Pilot Point in three closely contested sets, falling 23-25, 21-25, and 18-25. Despite the loss, the match was filled with competitive play and moments of excellence that the team can build on moving forward. Camryn Ives and Hazel Darney were a force in the back row, while setter Blake Edwards delivered an impressive performance, keeping the offense moving.
The season is just beginning, and with the grit and talent this group has, there’s plenty to look forward to for the Lady Cats!
