Tomcats Dominate Homecoming, Move to 4-0 with 44-14 Win
The lights were bright, the stands were packed, and the Tomcats delivered on Homecoming night. Tom Bean defeated the Prairiland Patriots 44-14, giving the community plenty to cheer for on this Homecoming Night as the team improved to 4-0 heading into district play.
The Tomcat defense rose to the challenge, allowing only 14 points despite facing a heavy ground attack. Prairiland managed 341 total yards, but the Tomcats held them to just 56 passing yards on 10 attempts. The defense forced 3 fumbles, recorded 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, and stopped the Patriots on two fourth downs to set the tone. Individual Tomcat standouts included Ryan DeArmond with 14 tackles and Brayden Bomar with 13 tackles and 1 pass deflection. Tatum Hanson added 13 tackles and Brayden Yowell had a monster night with 12 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 2 QB pressures. Cain Pearson threw in 8 tackles and Dallas Peavey had 6 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 2 QB pressures, while Carter Mayo added 6 tackles and 1 huge fumble recovery. Several others made their presence felt, including Maguire Poole, Andrew Secreto, Slayton Farris, Chase Stratton, Tony Secreto, and Treyshaun West, who each added 5 tackles.
The Tomcat Offensive Firepower was on display all night as the Tomcats put together their most explosive offensive performance yet, racking up 485 total yards. The air attack led the way with 430 passing yards and 5 touchdowns, while the ground game added another score. Quarterback Donnie Hooten was in complete command, completing 22 of 27 passes (81%) for 430 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Camden Stephens posted video game like numbers with 11 receptions for 177 yards and 4 touchdowns. Brayden Bomar added 6 catches for 155 yards and Dyson Farris contributed 4 receptions for 92 yards and 1 touchdown. Maguire Poole chipped in with 1 catch for 6 yards. On the ground Dallas Peavey had 4 rushes for 20 yards, Slayton Farris had 5 carries for 14 yards, Brayden Bomar added 12 yards on 1 carry and Cash Linder had 1 rush for 4 yards and a touchdown! #FAMILY #TakeTheNextStep
