Last night, the JV football team fell to the Whitewright Tigers 6-8. It was a hard fought, defensive slugfest, and though we had a chance to win within the last minute, we were unable to capitalize. Offensively we were led by Ethan Halpain, Yovani Ruiz, and Paxton Parrish. Halpain led the team in rushing yards, and Ruiz led the team in receptions and receiving yards. Parrish commanded the offense and had our only score after hauling in a 45 yard touchdown reception on a trick play.
Defensively, we had multiple tomcats contribute in several key situations. Paxton Parrish led the team in total tackles, and Wyatt King served as the enforcer with multiple hard hits throughout the game. Ethan Halpain had a strip sack to force a fumble that he then recovered to set us up in Whitewright territory. Noah Gray had a fumble recovery. Alex Watson had multiple tackles for loss, and had a fumble recovery as well that put us in a position to try to win.
Next week we will play against the Tioga Bulldogs, in Tioga, after the conclusion of the middle school games. Please come out and support.
