Under the Halloween lights and in front of a packed home crowd, the Tom Bean Tomcats put on a show in their regular season finale, blasting the Trenton Tigers 56-0 on Senior Night. It was a night of celebration, domination, and emotion as the Tomcats honored their seniors and sent them out in style.
The Tomcats were firing on all cylinders from the opening kickoff. Quarterback Donnie Hooten delivered a flawless performance, completing 19 of 19 passes for 248 yards and five touchdowns, while also adding a rushing score. It was the kind of performance that cements a legacy!
Wide receiver Camden Stephens had a historic night of his own, joining Brayden Bomar and surpassing the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the season. Step4 receptions hens finished the game with 10 receptions for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brayden Bomar added a 33-yard touchdown grab, Dyson Farris had 4 receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown , Maguire Poole, Dallas Peavey, and Cain Pearson all contributed key receptions.
On the ground, the Tomcats controlled the tempo with 89 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Hooten rushed for 36 yards and a score, Slayton Farris added 30 yards, and Tatum Hanson found the endzone on a 2 carries for 19 yards.
Defensively, the Tomcats were nothing short of dominant, pitching a shutout and limiting Trenton to just 101 total yards. The defense racked up 8 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, and 2 turnovers on downs, making life miserable for the Tigers.
Leading the way was Jacob Lind with 9 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and a sack. Ryan Dearmond and Tatum Hanson each had 8 tackles, while Carter Mayo was disruptive all night with 6 tackles and 4 tackles for loss. Chase Stratton came up big with an interception and a 50-yard return. Maguire Poole and Brayden Bomar helped anchor the secondary, each recording key pass deflections.
The Tomcats’ special teams unit also made their presence felt as Brayden Bomar electrified the crowd with a 50-yard punt return touchdown, capping off the dominant night.
