Fourteen games into the season, the Tom Bean Tomcats have already shown they are a team built on pace, toughness, and competitive fire. From opening night dominance to overtime battles against larger classifications, the Tomcats have embraced every challenge thrown their way and the results speak for themselves.

The Tomcats opened the year in emphatic fashion, overwhelming Callisburg 79–38 behind a monster performance from Jace Sullivan, who poured in 41 points, setting the tone for what would become a memorable stretch of basketball. Chase Stratton added 10 points as the Tomcats controlled the game from start to finish. That momentum carried into a road win at Pottsboro, where Sullivan followed up with 26 points and Jacob Lind chipped in 10, powering Tom Bean to a 68–41 victory.

The Tomcats then stepped onto a bigger stage at the Evadale Tournament, immediately tested by 4A Huffman Hargrave. In a hard-fought opener, Tom Bean came up just short in a 50–48 loss, led by Sullivan’s 17 points and Brayden Bomar’s 13. The response, however, showed the character of this group.
Tom Bean rebounded with authority, dismantling Anahuac 58–27 as Sullivan scored 25 points and Carter Mayo added 11. That confidence carried into a gritty win over East Chambers, where Sullivan’s 23 points and Bomar’s 14 helped the Tomcats grind out a 58–52 victory.
In the semifinals, the Tomcats delivered one of the most electric performances of the young season. Against 5A Dayton, Tom Bean forced overtime in a thriller before falling 78–75. Sullivan authored a performance for the record books, exploding for 50 points, while Mayo added 11 in the unforgettable battle. The tournament concluded with a third-place game rematch against Huffman Hargrave, where Bomar led with 14 points and Sullivan added 10 in a 62–37 loss against the larger 4A program.
Coming out of Evadale, the Tomcats showed growth and resilience.
