In their trip to Sam Rayburn, Lady Cat Middle School Softball had everyone on the edge of their seats as yet another opponent bit the dust! Their 16-1 victory over the Lady Rebels put another double digit notch in their belts this season.
In the first inning of the game, Blake Edwards started a fire that would ignite the team by by driving in one run on a triple. The Tom Bean Lady Cats' remarkable night never slowed down, scoring a total of 16 runs on 12 hits. Addison O'Bier and Olivia Noga were the standout performers, each collecting three hits for the team.
Blake Edwards also played a crucial role in the circle and earned the win for the team. Edwards pitched for three innings, allowing only two hits and keeping the opponent from scoring any runs. She showed her prowess by striking out four batters and walking none. In relief, Addison Porter stepped in and pitched three innings from the bullpen to support the team's efforts.
The next time these ladies take the field will be September 19 in at North Lamar. The game will start at 5:00 PM.
