The Lady Cats volleyball teams have been putting in tremendous effort on the court over the past week, all while facing challenging opponents.

On Tuesday night, September 10th, the Lady Cats squared off against the S&S Lady Rams. The match was a tough one, with both the JV and Varsity teams falling to their opponents in straight sets.

In the JV match, the Lady Cats fell in two sets, with the first set being a close contest. Despite a valiant effort, they lost 20-25. Olivia Noga and Bailey Daniel were highlights of the game, delivering strong serves and multiple aces that kept the game competitive. The second set saw the Lady Cats fall 12-25, but Dianne Flores stepped up in the back row, making numerous digs to support the team's offense.

The Varsity team also faced the S&S Lady Rams, losing in three sets. The first set ended 16-25, but the Lady Cats showed significant improvement in the second set, narrowly losing 22-25. The final set was a tight contest, with the Lady Cats falling 20-25. Taylor Vick impressed with three aces and strong serves, while Jaycee Allen led at the net with five kills, closely followed by Sam Lind with four kills. Despite the loss, these performances were a testament to the team’s resilience and skill.

On Friday the 13th, the Lady Cats took to the court again, this time against the North Hopkins Lady Panthers in a varsity-only match. The Lady Cats fell in straight sets, 12-25, 14-25, and 15-25, but the matches were marked by significant individual efforts.

In the first set, the Lady Cats struggled to find their rhythm and dropped it 12-25. However, Camryn Ives, Jaycee Allen, and Sam Lind made notable defensive contributions with three digs each, helping to keep the team competitive despite the challenge from North Hopkins.

The second set saw improvement from the Lady Cats but they still fell short, ending 14-25. Rilee Bailey and Alyssa Kelly stepped up at the net, and Jaycee Allen's defensive play continued to be a crucial factor in the team’s efforts.

In the third set, Taylor Vick took on the setting role, making a significant difference with five assists. Jaycee Allen also contributed with five assists of her own, working alongside Vick to create more opportunities for the Lady Cats. Despite their hard work, the final set ended 15-25.

The Lady Cats continue to demonstrate their dedication and skill on the court. Their next challenge will be in their preparation for their next opponent. They will be traveling to Grayson Christian on Tuesday, September 17th with the first game starting at 5:00 PM.
