The Lady Cats are now in full swing of district play. This week marked their second full week of district play.
On Tuesday night, the varsity team battled hard against Tioga, taking the match to 4 sets. Despite a strong effort, the Lady Cats fell short. The first set was dropped 15-25, but the Lady Cats bounced back in the second, winning 25-20. The Lady Cats dropped the next two sets 12-25 and 9-25. Standout performances came from Ryan Jones, who pushed the offense, and Jenna Fredson, who was big defensively for the Lady Cats.
The junior varsity team also faced a challenging opponent, losing in two sets (11-25, 13-25). Krislyn Morales led the way defensively, making critical plays to keep the Lady Cats in the match.
On Friday, the Lady Cats took on Sam Rayburn. The varsity team fought through four sets, but the match ended in a 1-3 loss. The first set was tough with an 11-25 loss, but the Lady Cats kept the second set close, ultimately falling 21-25. They rebounded with a win in the third set, 25-24, before Sam Rayburn took the final set 10-25. Key performances came from Sam Lind, who made an impact at the net, and Camryn Ives, who played a significant role in defense.
The junior varsity team played a close match but lost in two sets (18-25, 15-25). Emory Edwards brought high energy to the back row, keeping rallies alive, while Olivia Noga shined with her serving, adding pressure to Sam Rayburn throughout the match.
