This Saturday, our cross country team wrapped up the season with a lot of heart, and our athletes truly brought their A-game! Before diving into their performance, Coach Hemenway and our cross country team would like to issue a heartfelt thank you to all the staff, family, and friends who came out to cheer them on.
In the varsity girls race, Reese Perkins crushed her personal record with an impressive time of 12:53 and is now headed to Regionals! Not to be outdone, McKenzie Bearden also achieved a personal record.
The varsity boys had an outstanding performance as well! Hunter Filbeck blazed through the 5K with a stellar time of 19:04.02. We also witnessed a flurry of personal records from Charlie Minor, Landen Miller, Keaton Reed, Vernon Hulme, and Heath Ostrander. A huge shoutout to our JV Boys, where personal records were achieved by Vance Guinn and Curran Apple.
In the middle school girls division, Kami Poole secured 3rd place. Hazel Darney would finish in 7th, and recording a PR. Addison O’Bier also medaled by finishing 9th in the race.
On the Middle School Boys side, every single runner earned a personal record—huge kudos to Max Donihoo for leading the way for our middle school Tomcats!
Whats to come? Reese Perkins will be competing at Regionals on October 21st & 22nd. We will be sure to keep you posted on how she does!
