The much anticipated 2024 season was opened up last night, August 14, as Lady Cat Volleyball traveled to Howe to compete against the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Cats JV would take the court first. Olivia Noga proved to be a huge competitor at the net, paired with Krislyn Morales being defensive wall for the Tom Bean Lady Cats. A big rally stuck in the back half of the first set, but the Lady Cats fell short, ending the set at 21-25. The Howe Lady Bulldogs prevailed and took the second set 25-11.
The Lady Cats varsity faced would follow in a fierce contest that showcased both teams' competitive spirit. The Lady Cats fell short in a match defined by intense rallies and dramatic momentum shifts. Jaycee Allen and Ryan Jones were a huge duo in the first set, showcasing their consistency up at the net. Howe secured the victory with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 27-29, and 25-19. Tom Bean took momentum in the third set, but Howe ultimately took the game in 4 sets.
The Lady Cats will be back in action this Thursday at the Whitesboro tournament.
